Lucretia Williams, PhD

I design, research, and evaluate culturally responsive technologies

Hey there! I am a Senior Research Scientist at Howard University’s Human-Centered AI Institute. My research interests are in human-computer interaction, responsible AI, digital mental health, and underrepresented communities. My research delves into the lived experiences of underrepresented communities, guiding the exploration of how emerging technological advancements can facilitate their access to and engagement in experiences initially not designed with them in mind.

I received my Ph.D. in Informatics from the University of California, Irvine under the advisement of Gillian Hayes. I was affiliated with the STAR Lab, UCI ANTrepreneur Center, and DECADE.
